About the Program
It explores basic dimensioning, editing and drawing manipulation functions. The program also covers additional topics, including tool and die making, power work, holding devices and modular tooling systems. No previous computer experience is required to get started in the Engineering Design & Drafting Technologist program.
Hands-on Engineering Design & Drafting Training
Through a series of real-life case studies, you’ll learn how to evaluate engineering designs using such time-honoured principles as consistency and alignment. You’ll explore the fundamentals of design technology with an introduction to computers and internet concepts before progressing to advanced applications such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Gain hands-on experience with the software and tools used across industries today.
At the same time, you can prepare to step into the professional world with job-ready training in project management, teamwork skills, and meeting work objectives. - Become familiar with CAD/Engineering terminology, architecture and literature in a variety of media
- Develop basic skills necessary for communicating the needs graphically, ideas, and requirements of progressive industrial manufacturing environments in Lettering/Text, Geometric Construction, Isometric and Orthographic Construction and others
